The website of Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) had slowed to a crawl since Monday midafternoon, as concerns mounted over whether or not the bank was again under cyber attack or it was something else.
Bank of America spokeswoman Tara Burke said the financial institution wasn't under attack, and the cause of the extremely slow website was the result of "routine" weekend upgrades.
Burke says Bank of America customers can still bank on the Internet with the company, although they'll have to be more patient until they work out the kinks in the system.
There was no specific guideline as to when the service would resume its normal function.
Bank of America closed Tuesday at $13.93, dropping $0.36, or 2.52 percent.
