Danone (DANOY) (WINN) (DCT) (HPT) (FPO) (MFC) Downgraded

Danone (DANOY), Winn-Dixie Stores (WINN), DCT Industrial Trust (DCT), Hospitality Properties (HPT), First Potomac Realty (FPO) and Manulife Financial (MFC) were downgraded by analysts.

Danone (DANOY) was downgraded by Credit Suisse (NYSE:CS) from a
"Neutral" rating to an "Underperform" rating.

Winn-Dixie Stores (WINN) was downgraded by Jefferies (NYSE:JEF) from a "Buy" rating to a "Hold" rating.

DCT Industrial Trust (DCT) was downgraded by Keefe Bruyette from an "Outperform" rating to a "Market Perform" rating.

Hospitality Properties (HPT) was downgraded by Keefe Bruyette from an "Outperform" rating to a "Market Perform" rating.

First Potomac Realty (FPO) was downgraded by Keefe Bruyette from an "Outperform" rating to a "Market Perform" rating.

Manulife Financial (MFC) was downgraded by RBC Capital from an "Outperform" rating to a "Sector Perform" rating.

Winn-Dixie (WINN) (AMPE) (TWER) (ANLY) (BERK) (SHIP) Top NASDAQ Gainers

Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ:WINN), Ampio Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:AMPE), Towerstream Corp. (NASDAQ:TWER), Analysts International (NASDAQ:ANLY), Berkshire Bancorp (NASDAQ:BERK) and Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ:SHIP) were the top gainers on the NASDAQ, Monday, December 19.

Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. (WINN) ended up 70.53 percent, closing at $9.26. They traded in a range of $9.16 to $9.32. A total of 55,945,132 shares changed hands.

Ampio Pharmaceuticals (AMPE) ended up 16.86 percent, closing at $4.99. They traded in a range of $4.35 to $5.05. A total of 155,124 shares changed hands.

Towerstream Corp. (TWER) ended up 16.23 percent, closing at $2.22. They traded in a range of $2.05 to $2.28. A total of 990,271 shares changed hands.

Analysts International (ANLY) ended up 15.37 percent, closing at $5.78. They traded in a range of $5.15 to $5.94. A total of 111,808 shares changed hands.

Berkshire Bancorp (BERK) ended up 13.93 percent, closing at $7.85. They traded in a range of $6.94 to $7.98. A total of 21,949 shares changed hands.

Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp. (SHIP) ended up 13.12 percent, closing at $2.50. They traded in a range of $2.21 to $2.80. A total of 35,205 shares changed hands.

Winn-Dixie (WINN) Jumps on TakeOver Bid

Shares of Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:WINN) skyrocketed on Monday on news of a $560 million bid from competitor Bi-Lo LLC.

The deal was approved by the board of Winn-Dixie, and is expected to close within 60 to 120 days. The bid equals $9.50 a share.

According to BI-Lo Chairman Randall Onstead, there are no overlap of stores, which should allow for a smooth and unhindered transition of the deal, and also should result in all stores being kept open.

This would make the combined company the 9th-largest in the U.S. Assuming the deal goes forward, Winn-Dixie will be taken private.

Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. ended the session up $3.81, closing at $9.24, gaining 70.17 percent.

Winn-Dixie (WINN) (DG) (VRA) (DOLE) (MYGN) (EMC) EPS Estimates Changed

Winn-Dixie (NASDAQ:WINN), Dollar General (NYSE:DG), Vera Bradley (NASDAQ:VRA), Dole Food (NYSE:DOLE), Myriad Genetics (NASDAQ:MYGN) and EMC (NYSE:EMC) EPS estimates adjusted by analysts.



Winn-Dixie EPS estimates were lowered by analysts through 2012 by BMO Capital Markets. They reiterate a "Market Perform" rating and price target of $9 on the company.



Dollar General EPS estimates were boosted by BMO Capital Markets through 2012. They maintain an "Outperform" rating and price target of $40 on the company.



Vera Bradley had its EPS estimates raised by KeyBanc through 2012. They reiterate their "Buy" rating and price target of $48 on the company.



Dole Food had its EPS estimates cut by Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS). They have a "Neutral" rating and price target of $12 on the company.



Myriad Genetics had its EPS estimates raised by Goldman Sachs. They have a "Sell" rating and price target of $19 on the company.



EMC had its EPS estimates lowered through 2012 by Credit Suisse (NYSE:CS). They have an "Outperform" rating and a price target $27 on the company.

Price targets on shares of Amgen, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMGN), Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: WINN), Dell Inc. (NASDAQ: DELL), Eli Lilly & Co. (NYSE: LLY) and TJX Companies Inc (NYSE: TJX) updated by analysts.

Oppenheimer raised their price target on Amgen, Inc. (AMGN) to $66.00. They have an “outperform” rating on the company.

Barclays Capital (NYSE:BCS) raised their price target on Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. (WINN) from $8.00 to $11.00. They have an “overweight” rating on the company.

Citigroup (NYSE:C) analysts raised their price target on shares of Dell Inc. (DELL) from $19.00 to $20.00. They now have a “buy” rating on the company.

Goldman Sachs analysts raised their price target on shares of Eli Lilly & Co. (NYSE: LLY) to $35.00. They now have a “sell” rating on the company.

GE Capital (GE) Co-Agent Winn-Dixie (WINN) $600 Million Asset-Based Credit Facility

GE Capital (NYSE:GE), Corporate Retail Finance announced announced in a press release "it is co-collateral agent on a $600 million asset-based revolving credit facility for Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ:WINN), a leading food retailer. The loan refinances an existing credit facility and will be used for working capital and general corporate purposes. GE Capital Markets served as joint lead arranger."

Winn-Dixie is one of the nation's largest food retailers. The company operates 484 retail grocery locations, including 379 in-store pharmacies, in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi.

"GE Capital knows our business and they really understand the challenges and opportunities inherent in retail," said Bennett Nussbaum, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Winn-Dixie in a press release. "We value GE’s significant financial commitment and our ongoing business relationship.”

“This financing builds on our five-year relationship with Winn-Dixie,” said Jim Hogan, senior managing director of GE Capital, Corporate Retail Finance. “Providing retailers with capital to accelerate their business plans is one of our specialties.”

General Electric was trading at $19.62, falling $0.10, or 0.51 percent, as of 1:17 PM EDT. Winn-Dixie was at $6.88, down $0.08, or 1.15 percent.

Safeway (NYSE:SWY), Kroger (NYSE:KR), Winn-Dixie (Nasdaq:WINN) Dragged Down by Supervalu's (NYSE:SVU) Performance

Supervalu (NYSE:SVU) had a disastrous third quarter, generating concerns the overall grocery sector could be under pressure, including Safeway (NYSE:SWY), Kroger (NYSE:KR) and Winn-Dixie (Nasdaq:WINN).

Consequently, the shares of Safeway, Kroger and Winn-Dixie are all down today in response to the pressure.

Grocers, including Supervalu, implemented a costly promotional strategy for the Christmas season to attract consumers to the stores.

With Supervalu failing to produce from their efforts, the question is how the other grocers, and ultimately, buy extension, other retailers fared as well.

Safeway was trading at $20.95, down $0.21, or 0.99 percent, as of 1:00 PM EST. Supervalu fell to $7.65, down 0.94, or 10.94 percent. Kroger was trading at $21.38, down $0.16, or 0.72 percent. Winn-Dixie was trading at $6.33, losing $0.08, or 1.25 percent.
