An antitrust lawsuit filed by the Northeast Dairy Farmers against Dean Foods (NYSE:DF) is drawing to a conclusion, as they've reportedly settled the case for $30 million.
Terms, if approved by the court, will include an agreement for Dean Foods to acquire milk from producers in the region, along with the $30 million settlement.
Also sued by Northeast Dairy Farmers was the Dairy Farmers of America cooperative, a competitor which was accused of operating a monopoly.
Farmers from the region allegedly were paid lower prices because Dean only purchased milk from Dairy Farmers of America or its affiliates.
Dean Foods last closed at $8.29, down $0.05, or 0.60 percent.
