Citigroup (NYSE:C), JPMorgan (NYSE:JPM) Branch Openings Delayed in NE U.S.

Scheduled openings of branches of Citigroup (NYSE:C) and JPMorgan (NYSE:JPM) in the Northeast region of the U.S. have been delayed, based on the snow blizzard which resulted in over a foot of snow falling in the region.

Gusting winds added to the misery and interruptions, as drifts reached waist-high in many parts of the area affected by the snow.

Branches in New Jersey were completed shut down by Citigroup and JPMorgan, as a state of emergency has been declared there.

Citigroup also closed branches in Boston, although it appears some in New York and Connecticut will be opened later in the day.

JPMorgan closed the majority of its branches in New York and all of them located in Connectictu.

Both banks said they're making decisions on whether to open branches on whether or not their workers can safely make it to work and how secure the branch would be if it were opened.

Citigroup was trading at $4.74, gaining $0.06, or 1.28 percent, as of 1:13 PM EST. JPMorgan was trading at $42.54, up $0.46, or 1.09 percent.
