BP (NYSE:BP) has decided to go with a wireless infrastructure security system from Zimiti, which will be built to protect "both fixed and mobile assets from either accidental or malicious damage or theft."
The system will ultimately protect BP from either accidental or malicious damage or theft, according to a press release.
Zimiti CEO John Hunter said: “This product will meet a previously unresolved need in the intrusion detection market by providing customers with a low cost, highly-effective solution. Our base technology is field-proven, robust, scalable and secure. Importantly, Zimiti offers longer in-service life than other battery powered technologies, is light and man portable, which means solutions can be brought to bear in threat areas extremely quickly.”
The first system is estimated to be deployed for BP sometime in the fourth quarter of 2011.
